Audioboo is a platform for the creation, management and sharing of "Boos" (http://bit.ly/4xbCo8) or short audio clips.
Using our mobile apps (currently iPhone, soon on other platforms), any third party app utilising our API, a phone or a web interface, users are able to speak and immediately publish their voice in high quality to Twitter, Facebook or to a player in any website.
Since its launch in March 2009, Audioboo has had huge success with many well know bloggers (eg Stephen Fry, Leo Laporte) and media companies (BBC, ITV, Guardian) taking it up.
A "Pro" version of the platform with web tools for managing, sharing and publishing Boo streams was launched in September 09 with 2 significant media companies already signed up.
Our belief is that audio and particularly, the spoken word audio, has been a neglected medium over recent years. In world where 1) real time connectivity to friends, family and followed is increasingly desired and 2) mobile devices are becoming the most important tool for that connectivity there is a huge opportunity for social audio. Audioboo aims to capture that space; becoming the de-facto standard for audio content on the web and to make the term to "Boo" as common as to "Tweet".
