The match2blue software architecture is based on the general idea to compare “entities” (i.e., persons, locations, or just pieces of information such as messages or coupons) based on user generated and thus flexible rules. Such a rule is called “intention” in the m2b model and can be understood as semi-formal description of an information request.
Different from a unique inquiry to a data base or search engine an intention is a general expression of interest that is specified by the user once and that is processed continuously and event driven until the intention is changed or deleted. Based on this, a user receives real-time and location based “recommendations” from the system on other entities that match his individual intentions, i.e., that may be of interest to him. The quality of matching is increased additionally as match2blue turns away from a key word based matching to a content based matching. Instead of matching key words, match2blue uses a sophisticated algorithm to compare the “similarity” of information content wise.
